This Wiley newsletter, focused on the business side of the nonprofit world, just published an interview with the author of a new book on fundraising, and the interview was really solid. Penelope Burk, author of Donor Centered Leadership, had this to say about the constant drive to attract more and more donors to an organization:

“The real objective should be to have a reasonable number of donors, retaining as many of them as possible and increasing the value of their gifts as quickly as possible through relationship-building. That’s where the profit is.”

It’s about relationship building. Where have we heard that before? Good job, Penelope.

As always, I welcome your comments and feedback.
